Our Story

Lakeside Research is the dedicated clinical research division of Overlake Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center, one of the Pacific Northwest's most respected rheumatology practices. Founded in 1984, our practice has been at the forefront of patient care and medical innovation for over four decades.

Our research program grew naturally from our commitment to providing patients with access to the latest treatment options. Many of today's standard rheumatology therapies—including several widely-used biologics—were once investigational medications tested through clinical trials at sites like ours.

Today, Lakeside Research operates as a specialized research unit with dedicated staff, purpose-built facilities, and the infrastructure needed to conduct complex clinical trials while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and data quality.

Our Mission

To advance the treatment of rheumatologic diseases through high-quality clinical research, while providing our community with early access to innovative therapies and contributing to the development of tomorrow's standard of care.

Our Connection to Overlake Arthritis

As a division of Overlake Arthritis and Osteoporosis Center, Lakeside Research benefits from direct access to a large, diverse patient population actively receiving care for conditions including rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, gout, psoriatic arthritis, osteoporosis, and other rheumatologic diseases.

This integration allows us to identify potential study candidates efficiently while ensuring that participants receive coordinated care from physicians who understand both their clinical needs and the requirements of research participation.
